Poses the question though.. why are they being sold as suitable for pellet smokers then??
And could they have had anything to do with @HectorAsado pig rig issues?

Yes, this is my concern. All the manufacturers in Australia think that any wood pellet they make will work in a pellet BBQ, this is simply not correct and means they have not done their homework!

Interesting comment from @Lovey.....he is referring to these particular pellets!!
Yes, that's the type. I haven't used them yet though .

They are suitable for use in a pellet smoker, as in they're food grade and don't use soft wood. It may be that they may possibly need to be mixed with other pellets to reduce the strength of the flavour. Why not send the manufacturer a message and ask them? I've messaged them on facebook before and I've found them to be very helpful.

Thanks @Lovey
Thankfully except for that testing I have been mixing them.
Shawn who works for them has been in the forum and is aware of what I experienced. -

I'm on the last hopper full of Smokin' Pellets and haven't noticed any groaning issues. I just did a few hours with pork ribs and they seem very economical too. I'm now doing an overnight pulled pork so that will be interesting but so far, all good.

Checked this morning and there's still a reasonable amount of fuel left, which I haven't had with the Traeger pellets, although this was a smaller piece so the cook time was slightly shorter.
There's plenty of fuel left for me to cook up some chicken breasts for lunch too.

Apparently these Smokin' Pellets are still being ranged instore. Not sure why we are seeing them reduced though...grab em while you can I say!
And yes @Jimmyboy...Pit Boss is the whisper.

Was at Bunnings Notting Hill today.
Noticed they had restocked the hardwood pellets.
But back up to $25.00 for 5 kg again. -

No hope selling them in any quantity at that price. They'll soon be on special again as a run out.

Hey guys its been awhile, we have been listening to all the comments and have conducted some R&D. what we have done and it seems to be working well is that we have now reduced the size of our pellet to an average size of 10-15mm. This seems to flow much better through the auger tube. BTW we are now back to selling the 10Kg bags.

@Smokin and distributors in QLD ???
-
@Jimmyboy unfortunately not, the best idea is if you are in a position to is get a group buy. This will represent a large savings, as you know its the cost of freight that lets us all down.
