Been reading about how Sous Vide can do multiple components to a dinner, so given I had the rest of the family at a sporting match and me at a committee meeting thought I'd give it a try.
Firstly chicken thighs into a water bath. Carrots into a pot with some water and butter.
Make up fennel and apple salad and put in dressing - olive oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, then into a container with lid on.
Carrots now soft so into a bag and into the water bath to keep warm, then off to meeting I go.
We all arrive home about the same time, so pan on the stove to get smoking hot, carrots into a bowl and pureed, chicken browned, walnuts stirred through salad and some avocado sliced, then served up. Actually fairly simple but really yum. I probably spent only about 20 min active time cooking.
