Haha...just finished looking at that too!
Does look interesting though.
Could be here sooner than you expect though....Masterbuilt are putting up lots of offerings here now that Gasmate is distributing.
Almost like a pellet grill but charcoal.
Wow, that looks very interesting.
So it’s an offset Kamado with pit controller... kinda
Have a look on the Masterbuilt page, even has a cutaway of how it works!
If it gets here soon i may sell the kamado's and invest in one.
It looks really cool and simple to use like a Pellet Grill.
Looks cool you’d think with all the tech they put on it they would put a heat rod on it Instead if having to use a fire lighter/paper
It does look really cool. I'm still not sure what's stopping the fire going straight up the charcoal stack. Is there a second fan that blows sideways into the underside of the grill?
Got lucky enough about an hour ago to see one set up in the flesh....yep here in Victoria, just around the corner in fact.
You will just have to believe me as it was a "No Photos" at this time sorry.
Looks like a great unit up close & without pulling it to bits.
I will be in for one of these!!
The whisper is next Season...….start saving your pennies now....or add it to your present list.

I’m guessing available oxygen is expended limiting further fire spread, same as a Kamado.
Obviously hot exhaust exits via the cook chamber.
I suppose it is well sealed at the top of the hopper to prevent bypass of the cook chamber and overheating of the charcoal stack.

Same as all gravity fed, they have a secure, airtight lid on the hopper, no oxygen so it can't burn in there....forget to secure the lid and you'll know about it though!
@gourmetgalaxy did they indicate any idea around pricing ?
Looks great, 500$ US should translate to about $3000 aussie dollar tho haha...
That's my concern.
Oh well just some grill envy for me.
I don't think I could really sell the Saffire.

No @Jimmyboy...I was lucky enough to cast eyes on it....couldn't push it to much!

Haha...Don't think the Masterbuilt tax will be that high....
Haha...just finished looking at that too!

Is Next season, 12 months away or 2 months away?
been waiting for pellet grills to go on sale but the temp range of this is very attractive, be a great reverse sear machine. I would have thought lump would get caught up in the gravity feed tube thingy though.
Yeah I would think that to if large pieces ? They would wedge them self together when they drop down?
I’m sure @gourmetgalaxy will be testing one for us anyways as usual aha
