6 burner gas. Why would anyone buy that ?
I'll stick to my charcoal cookers and the Ziggy for gas.
-
My days of the big 4/6 burner are also long gone, Ziggy and Q series so much more efficient. But if it's something you want then go for it.
-
That's the reason it's on that special.
Nobody wants that setup.
-
Yeah they do, I’ve got a couple of mates with that set up and they love them, pretty sure I’ll be eating off one tomorrow unless he fires up his kettle.
-
I'm with you Bruckster, I can definitely see why blokes would be attracted to that unit, I'd however prefer an Akorn, pit boss pellet grill and a Ziggy twin for about the same price.
-
Totally agree with you Wazza that would be the perfect set up for that kind of money.
They all agree the BBQs way better cooked over charcoal just not willing to put in the time...yet! -

funny you said that. My old man had exactly the akorn, ziggy triple and pit boss pellet grill and sold all of them for the matador boss set up. I have cooked on the matador and it is a good gas barbie.

And if you have a nice new alfresco it's a great looking bit of kit. There is also nothing wrong with a gas bbq - my gasser is my most used due to time constraints. Yep, charcoal is better, but I don't have time to use it every time I cook.

Now that is interesting. Can I ask what he cooks? I'm guessing he does a few quick grills of chops / steaks a week? If that's the case then I can fully understand his decision for the big shiny 'kitchen' setup. I do think the Ziggy or Q series is better, but don't begrudge the great looking 'kitchen'.

One other aspect of this that comes up in bushland areas is that you need a gasser for using on fireban days.
I spend a fair bit of time at a house on the Murray River and we have many different barbecues using wood and charcoal but still have the 4-burner+wok gas BBQ to use during hot summer days. -

I agree that everyone should have a gasser. Preferably a Ziggy or Weber but a 6 burner gasser is way over the odds. Just my opinion.
