I was looking at getting a gmg db but my budget just wont stretch that far. Just found out about asmoke and they look alright. Id likely be looking at the smallest barrel style. Any gotchas with it? And importantly can i cook pizza in it?

Just saw this from a post in the asmoke FB group
I wonder if this makes it to Australia
Probably has been mentioned elsewhere, but Bunnings is selling the Pit Boss model now
-
I'd prefer to buy the Asmoke from William, from the original supplier. Who knows how long Bunnings will sell or support anything, they chop and change all the time.
-
@jiggen It is the old model (AS250) We don't make any more 2 years ago.
The lid was smaller and cooking space limited, not good for temp control.
We have this model in Blackburn showroom as part of history thread. -
That's good to know William, thanks. It's a bit like Bunnings selling the older kamado Joe too.

Gumb how good do sausages go on these things? It’s my go to sausages machine now!
-
Yes, they go great as long as you have the vent closed. I did them with it open once and the thing flamed up really badly.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, that's an older model of the current Asmoke and has a lower lid so for roasting it would be compromised.
-
Is this the model we all got with that kickstarter during lockdown?
-
Q: is the Asmoke just pit boss then ???

No, the model we got has the higher lid but they have upgraded thast one with a few extras as well.
Q: is the Asmoke just pit boss then ???
No, as far as we know the Pit Boss is an older version but probably from the same factory in China. I think it's the same deal as Bunnings selling the run out Kamado Joe pits.

ASMOKE has been OEM manufacturer for years.
And from 2018, ASMOKE launched the its first own model AS250 but testing sales not good as the limited BBQ space also faulty control system.
On 2019, ASMOKE launched AS300 with massive improvement and proving a marketing success.
And we are selling AS350 soon in Australia with NEW ASCA control system and other significant features.Q: is the Asmoke just pit boss then ???

I had a look on the website today after getting an email that mentioned something about new accessories and saw this which I didn't know about.
ASMOKE Pre-Seasoned Matte Enamel Cast Iron Reversible Grill/GriddleCompatible with Models: ✔ ASMOKE AS300 ✔ ASMOKE AS350Specifications : ➤ Dimension: 14.17 Inch x 12.99 Inch. ➤ Weight: 8.5 lbs. …asmoke.com.auHas anyone else seen or even got this? I wonder how hot it could get and how even the heat would be. Would be good enough for smash burgers?
-
What a shame they don't have that for the 500. They would be perfect and definitely would get hot enough.

It is Matte Enamel process, similar to put clay on top of cast iron.
The larger space, the more difficult to make with affordable cost.
Thanks for your suggestion, we would look into to develop more accessories to meet the demands. -
