Also try Bbq Galore. The Dragon Kamado is similar to the Akorn and uses a grill and pizza stone as a deflector. See if the grill fits.

Weber 7441 Replacement Charcoal Grates, 17 inchesWeber 7441 Replacement Charcoal Grates, 17 incheswww.amazon.com.auDepending on what you're doing you can use the 65947 with the V up or down. In the past the V grate was used in the more expensive kettle models and the 7441 in the entry level models.
When they next have a council clean-up near you, if there's an old kettle on the kerb and you might be able to pick up a 7441 spare.

Forgot to add. The V grate is designed to be used like this in a kettle
. You light the firelighters and move the charcoal baskets over the lit firelighters to get the charcoal going.
You can use the same idea in the Akorn if you use the charcoal baskets you got with the Akorn.
You keep the baskets together for searing and move them to the sides for indirect cooking when the charcoal is ready, You put a drip dray between the baskets during indirect to stop the crap/grease falling down the middle.

The 65947 looks just like the 7441. It gets you nice and close to the charcoal.
He can experiment two zone cooking using the charcoal baskets when he decides to cook a steak.
He has the best of both worlds of the Junior and the "dad" Akorn.
It might be worth you creating a new post to alert people that the 7441 is now the 65947 and add your photos as examples.
