The rise of the electric bbq

  • With high density living, apartments which are electric only, banning of new gas connections to houses, concerns over anything that uses fossil fuels we see more and more electric bbq models on the market.

It’s a bit like the evolution of the bbq’s you had available in the parks. You once had wood, then gas and now everything is electric.

I saw this the other day and thought this doesn’t look too bad.

  • I don't get why it would be better than an oven or stove, but it looks interesting.

  • I think the attraction is you get a chance to cook outside on the deck/balcony of the apartment. This keeps the heat and smells outside of the apartment. A plus in summer and if you have the aircon on.

It’s visuals are heaps better than taking the frypan or airfryer out on the balcony.

  • If you’re living with a larger balcony on your apartment this looks interesting.

I seem to be getting lots of electric bbq ads popping up after looking at a few.

  • Wow that's an expensive option, but it does look good.
